Texas Trails Council | Boy Scouts of America

Dear Friends of Scouting and Friends of the Texas Trails Council,

On the first Tuesday in May (May 1, 2018), Abilene Gives will be one of more than 100 community giving events happening across the country to raise the profile of charitable giving.  Abilene Gives will allow our community to give together by collectively supporting our local nonprofit organizations.

Twenty-four hours of giving begins at 12:00 a.m. on May 1.  Throughout the day, you may make a charitable gift at
https://abilenegives.org/designee/texas-trails-council-bsa.

We ask you to send this e-mail and future e-mails to all your family, friends, and business associates to encourage them to make a charitable gift to the Texas Trails Council during this 24-hour period.

We have several projects in the making right now that need funding.

  • A Fund a Cause for a much needed Horizontal-Vertical Log Splitter for camp which we have already raised $340.00 of the $1,950 price tag.
  • 3 new Laptop and 2 new desktop computers.
  • Camp Tonkawa Climbing Tower maintenance and the addition of a roof structure and storage container.
  • Purchase of new Canvas Tents for summer camp.
  • Both camps need new equipment; i.e., chain saws, tool handles and weed eaters.
  • Camp Tonkawa will need to replace the existing water well with a new one on our property (approximately $3,000).
  • Of course, our Council, like all Boy Scout Councils, needs funds for everyday operation.

Participating nonprofits also have the opportunity to receive additional funds based on donations received during Abilene Gives, encouraging donors to make a gift on this particular day to support their favorite causes or nonprofits  Click for the 2018 Abilene Gives campaign.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about the Texas Trails Council and our upcoming plans. We welcome the opportunity to visit with you in person about the great work our many volunteers do . Without our generous supporters we could not bring scouting and its values to our many youth!

Be sure and check out the special prizes below. Please share on all of your Social Media Sources.
