Celebrate the the 75th anniversary of Camp Bowie in Brownwood. This camp was commissioned by the US War Department on September 19, 1940.

Friday Night Check-In - Festival Park in Brownwood, near Gordon Wood Stadium

Saturday Activities

  • Camp on ground that was once part of the original camp
  • Brownwood Reunion Parade - March with Veterans and ROTC Cadets in a parade
  • Attend a memorial service for those who served our country
  • Complete the American Heritage Merit Badge - Scouts: bring a pen and a notebook
  • View a WWII re-enactment and living history camp
  • Midway & Carnival & Saturday Night Movie

Notes

  • Bring your meals - stove fires only
  • Water and restrooms will be available on-site
  • Recommend a sandwich lunch for Saturday
  • Scouts should bring money for the midway and carnival at the Brownwood Reunion Saturday afternoon & evening

Troop Info

  • Each troop should have a demo. Please contact John Dearing to sign-up for your demo. johndearing17@gmail.com
  • Troop check-in on Friday night at 7:00pm
  • $5 per participant by 9/16 - $10 per participant after 9/16

Webelos Info

  • Check-in at 8:00am on Saturday (no camping Friday night)
  • The troop you camp with will assist with meals and camping gear
  • $5 per participant by 9/16 - $10 per participant after 9/16
